Is your life in a transition?
Merriam – Webster Dictionary defines transition as the following:

Full Definition of transition
1a : passage from one state, stage, subject, or place to another : change
b : a movement, development, or evolution from one form, stage, or style to another
If you’re in a place in your life where you’ve been experiencing a great deal of changes. I want to share with you a few things that I’ve applied, to my life, during times of transition.
Maybe you’ve worked on a job for a few years, or even a decade, or more and the company let you go? Maybe a marriage ended? Perhaps you’ve lost a child unexpectedly or your son or daughter moved away to college and now you’ve become an empty nester? All of these life changing events call for transition.
If you haven’t experienced any significant transitions in your life yet, let me share a saying the ole folks say “keep on living child”.
Over the course of my life, I’ve experienced many transitions: college, marriage, the birth of my children, buying a new home, divorce, a child leaving for college and the lost of a job. Some transitions were joyous occasions and some were extremely painful. Of course, it would be nice if we could only experience the ones that bring us joy and happiness, but that’s not how this thing called life is set up.
“Transition is a vulnerable place. Your’re not completely hooked into your future, but you’re locked out of your past”. ~ Bishop T.D. Jakes
Here are a few steps you can take, that have helped me, when facing transition:
Worship God (when praises go up, blessings come down).
Schedule time for worship, prayer, and meditation
Create an atmosphere of praise and worship: (put on your favorite gospel songs, then sing, move or dance – or all of them and then notice the shift in your mind, body and spirit).
Listen to at least one inspirational message a day (change your attention and magnify how BIG your God is and stop talking about how big your problem is).
Finally, don’t complain. (continue to worship because God inhabits the praises of his people).
One message, I’ve heard many different times and from many different sources is that “Transition is God’s Way of Promotion”! I want to encourage you to hang on to those words if you’re going through a transition in your life right now. Whatever you’re dealing with right now or whatever transition means to you, I want you to think of it as a promotion.
